best one hit wonder cover songs
okay hit me up with suggestions.
i’m inspired to start the list with Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm.
edit: clarifying one-hit-wonder. If it wasn’t their only hit, it has to be their biggest hit.

dude, I just learned, via the shite news I’m “watching”, that thsy give away a separate grammy for Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
U2 won the Album honors while Green Day took home the Record.
Anyone else remember when records were albums? Weren’t they called record albums?
oh nevermind
Okay, Shakira. Lots of vocal talent, probably the native Spanish stuff is better than the stuff sung in english, but she seems to have a voice that could be used in some really good music.
That’s not what they’re writing for her, unfortunately.
The song she just played tonight was laughably contrived…just totally unfortunate. It had a decent verse, kinda funky thing going on, and then the chorus hits, and it’s this totally out of place, almost Cher’s “Do You Believe in Life After Love” type of bullshit. Just bad. I mean, I know, everything modern and pop sucks and all, but please. Don’t make it suck this badly.
It’s too bad, because I think Shakira’s voice and sound paired with some sick modern latin jazzy house production could make some incredibly playable platters. But we’ll never get to know.
Wow, what a terrible performance. The sound was awful, something that I know they don’t have full control of while being on SNL, but damn. Both songs were really pathetic.
Not that I thought Korn was going to come out and be good or anything. But I figured, when I heard they were the musical guest in SNL tonight, that they would be there in support of a new album or something, and that they would at least sound decent. Wrong. That was a really weak showing for a headliner like that.
I am Kornholio.
So, I have some friends that went and saw Green Day this weekend in San Francisco. They live in Bend. They flew to SF on Saturday, and returned on Sunday. I imagine that is not cheap.
Also, it cost $70 a ticket for general admission on the floor (field?) at SBC Park.
SEVENTY FUCKING DOLLARS! To see Green Day. And they flew there to do it. I don’t get it. I just don’t get it.
I would however pay $70/ticket to see Billie Jo (Dookie-era) beat the living shit out of Makeup-wearing, Pseudo-punk, Money-hasn’t-changed-me Billie Jo (American Idiot-era).
