One of the funniest things I’ve seen on SNL in quite some time was the digital short they aired tonight…Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell in a rap video about going to see The Chronicles of Narnia.
Good stuff. I’ve always really enjoyed Parnell’s white-boy raps on the show, he’s actually quite good. If you’ve ever wanted to somehow get paid to be the white-boy rapper you know you are, you’ll probably dig the video.
Also, Neil Young is the musical guest tonight, and actually as I type this is just getting done playing his first song. So obviously, I don’t have to talk shit about the musical performance tonight.
so yesterday, every employee at my office was given a black, 30GB video iPod. Sweet little xmas bonus, indeed.
It is sick. I had planned on buying a 60GB for my xmas present, but they saved me the trouble. 30GB is so much more usable than my 3G 10GB iPod. I loaded it up with music and some podcasts (audio and video), and right now I am copying Delaney photos onto it.
So far I have but one complaint - the lack of FireWire capability. It only hooks up as USB. Perhaps that’s because it’s formatted for Windows, but I’m unsure about that. JFGI, I guess. No big deal, but I have to get a USB2 card for my G4 today, because the 15GB of files I’ve put on it so far took FOREVER to transfer over USB1.1.
Okay, maybe two compaints - the screen is incredibly vulnerable to scratches. Far moreso than my older iPod. Perhaps some screen protection film is in order as well.
Okay, Shakira. Lots of vocal talent, probably the native Spanish stuff is better than the stuff sung in english, but she seems to have a voice that could be used in some really good music.
That’s not what they’re writing for her, unfortunately.
The song she just played tonight was laughably contrived…just totally unfortunate. It had a decent verse, kinda funky thing going on, and then the chorus hits, and it’s this totally out of place, almost Cher’s “Do You Believe in Life After Love” type of bullshit. Just bad. I mean, I know, everything modern and pop sucks and all, but please. Don’t make it suck this badly.
It’s too bad, because I think Shakira’s voice and sound paired with some sick modern latin jazzy house production could make some incredibly playable platters. But we’ll never get to know.
snow is so beautiful when it’s light powder, flowing naturally and collecting in perfect hills.
We got a good 4-5 inches at my office today, and it was gorgeous all day long.
I really only like snow when there’s a lot of it, and it’s much better when it’s really cold and dry. It’s still falling like it has all day, and I hope it snows all night.

It’s completely hilarious. It’s a clip show of the best moments from the previous editions, but it’s nicely put together, and it’s damn funny. Like laugh out loud, rewinding parts funny.
