Yes, yes I do. Biggest piece of shit key on the keyboard. There are less useful ones, but none as completely annoying for their placement. Here are some nifty tricks to disable this terrible key.

Windows 2000/XP:
Check out this page. You will find registry keys to remap the Caps Lock key as a Shift key, change Caps Lock into a Control key, swap the Caps Lock and the left Control key, or uninstall any of these Registry changes you may have made.

Mac OS X 10.4
Check out this handy page. You can actually disable the caps lock key using the Keyboard & Mouse preferences pane. Word.

Found via BendBlogs:

It these words were people, I would embrace their genocide.

there’s a bunch of good stuff worth reading on The Best Page in the Universe. You should check it out. Make sure to read his FAQ as well.

okay, so it has been a long time since I’ve written anything. It’s also been a while since anyone has been able to access this page. See this post on Brightness Falls for a very quick explanation.

I was also in the process of moving. That was slow going, due in part to having Delaney’s first birthday party on Wednesday, 8/10, and moreso due to Cid being out here on vacation. We always tend to have far too much fun when given the chance. So there were a couple of recovery days in there.

Delaney’s birthday was a blast though. She spent the morning walking back and forth between her mommy and I. Walking had been an intermittent thing until her birthday, but she loves it and walks all over the place now. Quite the trip. Anyway, we had a bunch of people over to play with her and she got lots of new books and toys and such. She also had her first cupcake, which she enjoyed thoroughly. Once year, in the books. Amazing.

I have my new house hooked up completely wirelessly. I have wireless cards in all my machines, including the G4 tower. It was good thinking on Apple’s part ot add support into the towers as well as the laptops. The tower is only on 802b, but there’s not a ton of file transfer between machines, so I won’t be upgrading it any time soon. I also hooked up an Airport Express to the stereo in the living room, and I must say, it’s quite cool to be able to stream music from the computer room to the living room stereo wirelessly. It makes me want a couple more Airport Expresses so that I could have a set of speakers in the garage and one on the deck, all without any wiring. Awesome it is.

On a sad note, my Compaq Evo N115 shit the bed the other day. As soon as you plug the AC adapter into the laptop, the light on the adapter starts to flicker and the light on the laptop that is supposed to light up when there’s AC power never comes on. Damned Compaqs. Oh well, that machine was incredibly cheap and survived the whole ‘beer on the keyboard’ incident, so I figure I got my money’s worth. It was awesome to have a laptop in the living room for instant internet capabilities, so I guess I’ll have to start toting the PowerBook or the ThinkPad back and forth from work.

Well, it’s about time to start posting something worthwhile (right after this worthless post, I swear) here on en|x|endub. Now that my blog has been picked up by BendBlogs and ORblogs, I have the potential for much more exposure than I had really ever anticipated.

I even got my first post via BendBlogs today, from Jake of UtterlyBoring.com and (yay outgoing links) BendBlogs. I actually know who he is, too, as he graduated high school a year before me and is a fellow drummer.

So stay tuned for content-laden posts from yours truly.

Or, you know, the same old crap. :)

finally. Apple gets with it and goes beyond the one button mouse.

MightyMouse

I use both PCs and Macs all day long at work, so for years I was content with right-clicky on the PC, and the lack thereof on the Mac. But then six months ago or so, I finally bought a MS optical scroll 3 button for the Mac. Oh the joy!

I’m not thinking I’ll switch from my MS scrolly, but at least the possibility is there.
